The use of electronics in braking systems is making an enormous contribution to road safety. But as vehicles have become more sophisticated, so too has the technology needed to diagnose and service them. Because of this diagnostics and expert knowledge are now part of even the most routine chassis jobs. Our one day module teaches you these skills and more. You’ll gain a good understanding of the principles of ABS systems, sensors and actuators, how they all work and how to diagnose and fi x system faults.

Advantages and disadvantages of ABS regarding friction and slip ratios.
Electronic control systems:
sensors, ECU’s and actuators.
ABS actuators/modulators operation.
Close review of wheel speed sensors: AC Inductive type and Hall effect, deceleration sensors – photo coupler type.
Diagnosis techniques.
ESP.
